Top 3 Questions

Stop Asking! Top 5 questions you shouldn't ask a Native American

A lot of people ask stupid questions and I hate that they use things that people mark us at. Over time I just grew to not pay attention, but the things I here make me think about how much time they have to come up with a dumb question. Many people are just dumb and they want to be funny but I feel like beating them up.

#1. Where are your feathers?

#2. What's your native name?

#3. Are you a chief?

Why not to ask these questions.

#1. I wouldn't ask this question because I when you are around a lot of natives and you are the only minority that is there, you might beat up. Many people come up to me and say this and I hold myself back from punching them. Most of the time it is white people though so I just ignore them.

#2. People come to me and ask me what my native name is, I just tell them a smart remark and I leave it at that. But others might act in a way that is unexpected. I met people that just go off at a question like this.

#3. This question doesn't really bother me as much but still, many natives don't like it. I get called it all the time and it really doesn't bother me. I think that I would not call an elder this because is an insult.

I like the questions. All of them I only laugh because I have asked these questions to Matt. We call him chief in our proctor home. He doesn't necessarily like it but we all have nicknames in our house. I would not recommend asking any native these either! Good job!
