Let me tell you about BMX! I am going to give you a couple tips and tricks for riding BMX. It is all about balance and speed. I'm going to give a list of a couple do's and don't's in order to be successful in riding BMX! Hopefully this will help you in a positive way if you decide to ride BMX in the future.
DO: One thing you must always do before you go riding is a bike check. A bike check is when you make sure all your screws, and bolts, and other parts are all put on securely and tight. It's required that you have a crescent wrench and a set of Allen wrenches in order to do this. If you do not do a proper bike check or you forget to, it could end very badly, trust me I learn from experience.
DON'T: One thing you don't ever want to do is put the pedals on your bike improperly! There is a certain way to put pedals on your bike. First of all you want to make sure you have them on the right sides. One thing that always confuses people is when you tighten your pedals, you have to turn it left to tighten them instead of right. It's kind of confusing.
DO: you always want to be sure that you wear the proper safety gear when riding BMX! I never used to wear a helmet while biking until the day my best friend / brother crashed and lost most of his teeth and suffered severe head injuries. The helmet I would recommend is a full face BMX helmet. Not only because they are the safest, but because they make you look cool hehehehe.
DON'T: Another thing you don't want to do when riding BMX is rush yourself! Just go at your own pace. If you rush yourself to learn tricks and stuff you might injure yourself. Just wait till the time is right, and until it feels right before throwing a big stunt. Practice makes perfect.
DO: Another thing you want to do if your going to ride BMX is practice everyday, or at least a couple times a week. You may not believe so, but the more you practice the more you get used to the feeling of it and the better you get at it. Trust me, a couple years ago I could barely ride a bike, now I can flair and pretty much any trick you can name!
DON'T: Something that you don't want to let get to you while in the process of learning to ride BMX is other bikers, skaters, and other people. Because they have a tendency to talk smack, but you know what I do when people start talking smack? I look away, put my headphones in, and do my thing!t

I wish that I would have met you a year ago because one time I bit a rap and almost took out my family jewels just because I did think before I act.
I like how you did your do and don't list because of how you worded it. I felt like you were right next to me telling me all this. I also like how you said " don't let people get to you" I suffer from criticism but now I'm gonna follow your advice
I agree with proper safety. I almost cracked my head not wearing safety gear. I didn't do a bike check never thought to, my wheel came off and hurt myself pretty badly. (That's when I almost cracked my head). I would have added at least a light for night too.
Kristin I bmx too. You should take that far in your life. If you continue on the path your on then you won't have a future doing it. Im working on taking my own advise becuase Im really good at it as well. I could see a future doing it but I have other plans for my future.
That's pretty crazy bro, that one simple mistake could lead to an fatal injury. Even through I don't bmx I still think the whole spots is interesting I'm glad I read this so if I do try bmx I will not die.
