Do/Don't Essay

I'm going to tell you the best-kept secret of living in a small town. It's not as hard as people might say. The hardest things for me, in order of difficulty would be, 1. Dealing with the winter months and 2. Dealing with stubborn horses.

I'm not saying that it's easy because it's not. I'm just saying that it's easier than most people think. I've wrote a list of things you should do and things that you shouldn't.

DO: Respect your surroundings. You wouldn't want somebody to ruin your property so don't ruin theirs.

DON'T: Provoke the wildlife. A lot of people say that "their more afraid of you than you are of them" but that's not true. If you're face to face with a cougar who's more likely to be blood thirsty, you or the cougar? The best thing to do is keep your distance all together because they are more likely to win than you are.

DO: Respect your neighbors. They have the ability to make your life hell whether you think so or not.

DON'T: Party at your house. Take your parties to the cedars. You will find it hard to fit in if you throw a party at your house. Go to the cedars and have a bonfire.

And finally DO: Stay out of trouble as much as publicly possible. When one person knows your business, EVERYONE knows your business. There are no secrets in a small town.

And for the love of all things holy DON'T: Pick fights at the Friday night bonfires. There isn't too much to do on a Friday night except go to the bonfires. You pick fights at the bonfires, you lose your right to go to them. You lose your right to go to them, nobody wants to go to yours.

I really like your do about respecting your neighbors. If you end up getting on your neighbors bad side then they really can make your life hell. It's easier to just stay out of their way and then they'll stay out of yours.

To heaven from hell I like your sway Can-dice. I would like to live in a small town with the hippies of the great Utah Valley. I think you should respect your neighbors where ever you stay depending if you like them or not. Living in a small town would be great for me. Mainly, because I can tweak with it and the mellow vibe around besides me yelling out to the town to wake up. Good job Can-dice. :) Dont hate.

Your do's and don't's are totally true. I love living in a small town. The whole don't party at your house is my favorite. I have never thrown a party at my house I think it's stupid because you have to pick up after everyone later. If you throw it in the woods or by the river then you don't have to clean up. Maybe just pick up the cans but other than that you are good. Oh, and you are TOTALLY right about the staying out of trouble, because if you don't then everyone in the whole town knows what you did. It's not always easy living in a small town. It may be fun at times but it can also be irritating. You get to know everybody and then you have no new people to meet. I love your do's and dont's Candice they are my favorite. .

I like this because it is news to me. I live in Ogden,it's not any thing like a small town. But there are some similarities like respecting your surroundings.

I think it's pretty easy to live in a small town as long as you follow the rules, and don't get into trouble. I lived in a small town and it was pretty easy for me as long as I stayed out of others buissness and didn't do anything stupid. Cause like you said once some one knows everyone knows.

I think it would also be easy to live in a small town. I use to live in a small town in price called beaver and one thing I didn't like about it was that everyone new everyone.but yeah if you follow the rules then it should be easy. Good job!

Candice you do not seem like the small town country girl. I used to live in a small town as well. I actually prefer to live in small citys than big citys. The thing I like most about small towns is you can ride your 4 wheelers and dirt bikes around on the city streets and not get in trouble.
