Things that Should Die with 2013

Hashtags are an overused fad that should die with 2013.

Sure they're used to find things and being used on Instagram and Twitter and it's easier to express your feelings. But, I remember a time when the hash symbol (#) was used for numbers.  Hashtags were invented for Twitter, I can see the point where you use them to find someone or something you like, and for Instagram, knowing whether or not what your friends like and putting things that relate to yourself and your picture. That's when it should stop though.

Lately I've seen and even been in a conversation with someone and they actually use the word Hashtag in the conversation. For example, someone is talking about food and such person goes "Hashtag; this is delicious." You can't just say the sentence? I don't have a Twitter for a reason, and I don't need to know what you're thinking ever five seconds. Please keep it on the appropriate social media sites.

Appropriate media sites would be, Twitter and Instagram, not Facebook. Statuses on Facebook are not for Hashtags, neither are the captions on your photo. If you want to look extremely unintelligent then by all means, continue using Hashtags on your status. But, if you want to look like you know what complete sentences are and you know what a complete thought is, then maybe hashtags aren't your thing. Putting a Hashtag after something like, "I'm LookINg So HiPsteR ToDAY #swag" it doesn't make you look like a gangster. It looks like you had a seizure on your keyboard, so next time you use a Hashtag remember that it was "soooo 2013."

I agree with you. Hashtags are over used and and should die in 2013. I hate it when people use Hashtags on Facebook when they are supposed to use it on twitter. I guess we really can't controll that though so we just have to get used it.

You are totally right. Hashtags should have died with 2013 they are way over used. I mean, they started in like 2009. That is enough people.

I agree. It's super annoying. It looks dumb when you use a hash tag like ten times! I think that should definitely die in 2013.

I agree that hashtags should die whith 2014 because peolple just use it with out knowing what it stands for or what it means.

I think in some cases a hash tag is obligatory, but it's over used, and at the same time misused. A hash tag saying something like, "just drank a coke", is stupid, and not at all necessary. We need to use it to symbolize an important, interesting event. Not to say how good Applebee's appetizers are.

You are so right Cydnee. Hashtags are over used especially in their conversations. The over use of things should die with 2013.

Oh Cydnee Loo, haha I agree. Its pretty old and not cool how everyone started using "hashtag" for EVERYTHING! like whats the point in using the word "hashtag" in your speaking sentence? Like you said but I mean everyone has there reasons to why they over rate it.
