Top 5 questions to never ask your judge.
There are quite a few things that you should never ask your judge. When in front of your judge you should always be mindful of what you say. Your judge is the one person who can do whatever the heck he wants to you depending on his mood. So make sure you get on his good side or you will be sorry otherwise. He can really mess your life up if you make him mad.
Are you mad that I broke the law?
This is the one thing that every judge absolutely hates. You broke the law. Most judges consider the law their own personal rules, so when you break it, they get pretty irritated as you might imagine. Some of the consequences for this question could be: getting a longer sentence, getting more service hours than necessary, or more fines. Beware of this question, because it can really hurt your case.
2. What happens if I do it again?
This is a smart comment that really needs to be kept to yourself. When you ask a judge this, his mind automatically goes to "Oh, he's gonna do it again" and then he is going to make additional changes in your case to further restrict you. This is like asking your dad what's gonna happen if you hit his truck with a rock again. He is going to freak out and beat you all over again just for the idea of it. Be careful with your smart comments to your judge.
3. Why don't you just retire already?
When you ask a judge this, he will get pretty mad. This comment is questioning his authority and no one likes that. Your judge will probably yell at you, give you additional time, maximum fines and service hours, and then delay your case as long as possible. Nobody likes having their authority questioned or challenged, especially not a judge. Be mindful of your words and show respect for the judge. He has your life in his hands.
4. Never ask a judge why he cares.
This kind of smart remark is one that does not sit well with any judge. They will most likely tell you that they don't care and then throw "the book" in your face, the book meaning the law. What most teens don't realize, is that the judge really does care and that he is trying to help you. Asking a judge this question is like asking you parents the same thing. Your parents usually tell you that, they all of a sudden don't care and that you are grounded. Same concept applies with your judge.
5. Finally, never ask your judge "Why does it matter what I did?"
This question seems really stupid at first because it really is. But you would be surprised at how often it is asked in everyday life. This is also one question that the judge absolutely hates. I had a friend of mine ask this question to his judge. Afterwards, he came and told me that he should've never said anything because it made the judge think that he had a behavioral problem and needed treatment. So, instead of getting released, he got sent off to a program instead of going home the next day. Kind of crazy, huh? So, from now on, be mindful of what you say to your judge. They are always inspecting your behavior, and if they don't like it, that sucks for you. Think about that.

Those are some good questions not to ask. If they charge you based on there mood then there braken a law them self and that law is the right to a fair and speede trile. If they sentience you based off there mood then you can get them introble for not giving you a fair and speede trile. But you should still be careful about what you say to your judge.
I like this whole thing because I push everyone away and tell them not to care. We all have to talk to someone for help. It may not be the easiest thing to do. We ask why do we do what we do? But the answer never comes out the same but we still move forward.
Hey man good paper I find it funny because I've asked my judge "why do you care" haha yeah it didn't go so good for me. So what inspired you to right this paper?
I lke this good job. I remember asking the youth parole authority why do you care and all that got me was 6 more months. "I wouldn't ask where do you live at".
I think the best question is "Why do you care"? I like it because I think everyone cares whether you think they do or not. I always think in my head, why does anyone care? Why should they care about me and try to help me when I did all the things I did by myself.
These question bring a lot of insight on the judge's end of things. The funny part is that these are questions that I've thought about asking my judge, but only for the simple reason of pissing him off. The only reason that i haven't is because I know that it's not smart and the consequences won't be too grand. I really like your questions Noah.
The first question is super funny. I think your judge would be mad if they actually care about you and your future. Plus if you can tell your judge is mad, don't be stupid and ask if they are.
I agree with you on this noah. People don't really think about what they are saying when they are talking to their judge. They think they are talking to one of their friends. And end up getting put in d.t. Because the things they say.
Agreed. These are probably the stupidest things to ask a judge. I don't think I know anyone with that many guts. But this post is a key to surviving the court room. Following these will most likely benefit you. If you don't... More DT time for you.
