Let me tell you the best kept secret about the life as a youth. It is not easy.
To a point anyway. The two hardest things as a youth are; learning what's right and what's wrong. As a youth I learned that things get better not usually easier. I don't mean to imply that all youth life's are hard I'm saying that it's gets better as you get more advanced.
Do: live your life. Go on adventures. Be an average youth. When I was a youth I loved to explore these woodsy area's whenever I went to my grandmothers home. I found many things to do.
Don't: Explore drugs and violence. Don't be a "gangster". When I was growing up I explored drugs and violence. I ended up with a judge and case manager. I ended up in Slate Canyon Detention Center in Provo. Then to a group home for almost a year.
Do: Stand up for what you believe in. Stand up for what's right. When I was young (well still am) I always wanted to stand up. But... I couldn't always do that. I was a smaller kid when I was a little. I could stand up because of my "Youth in Custody" rights.
Don't: Rebel against The United States government you will never win. We all know what some presidents are not right in the years. But... We all have to learn when enough is enough.
And finally, DO: Take a moment when you are with your family to just say thank you. Appreciate your family. Be grateful for everything they have done to protect you, love you, feed you, and many, many more. I loved my parents. They were are always be my WHOLE life.
But for the love of everything holy DON'T: Expect things to go as planned. Never take your family for granted. When I was in my group home I was a trouble maker till the day I got the call March 8th, 2012 from my uncle saying my mom wasn't responding and was not going to live for much longer. That's when I realized I took them for granted. The next morning she was being hauled out on a stretcher not moving but a still body. Till this day I wish I could have taken my mistakes back.

I like the last do the most. Because I have thanked my family a lot for what they have done for me in my life. When I was out getting high and gangbangin I ended up running away from my home and living with my homies. One day I ended up with no where to go, no place to sleep, and nothing to eat. My mom finally found out and came looking for me and wanted me back home. So what I'm trying to say is my mom accepted me back home even when I have hurt her, and done bad, she still loved me and didn't look at me differently. So I thank my moms and family so much.
I liked how you said don't rebel against the system because you won't win . I know how that feels because I always fight because I say their not fair , but reality is that I'm the one being not fair it's my fault that I'm in the system not anyone else is to blame. I like how you said that you should stay away from drugs and violence. I grew up with violence in my life so thanks for writing this do or don't list.
I really like you essay (: I agree with a lot you said in this. Good job.
James I really like this essay. It talks a lot about how life really is. People do tend to take their families for granted. We often find ourselves hating them, disrespecting them, and just not being grateful for them, myself included. We have all done one of these things at one point in time. I think that you actually get life and how it is. Keep moving forward James and you'll turn out alright. Good job.
I love your blog!!!!!:) People attend to take there family's for granted but family is everything you have. You count on them so much through life. Sometime you might be mad at them but you can't take them to granted. James you did a good job on this!!!!!:)
I agree with everything in this essy.life is too short to not enjoy your child hood. I hated my child hood I was always moving and mad at the world. Regaling is deffonoly a bad idea I did and I hurt someone very I'm portant to me that didin't deserve it and I can't take it back. Drugs and vilince really messed up my life don't do them there bad.
