Do you want to know about the best-kept secret about long boarding? It's hard to learn but it's really fun. The two hardest thing to learn is to stay on the board and to keep balance on your board. Keeping balance is really difficult to remember.
Do: Start out small. You never want to go down a big hill when you first start out. Start out on flat ground, one with no hills. Stay on flat grounds even if it has the slightest of a hill.
Don't: Go down hills at first. If you go down a hill you will be guaranteed to biff it. You always want to start out small then progress. I went down a hill and mad biffed it and got a road rash.
Do: Wear shoes in good condition. If your shoes are in horrible condition you will have a difficult time boarding. One time i was wearing shoes the we're in horrible condition and I biffed it badly. So I went and bought a brand new pair and didn't biff it.
Don't: Wear jeans with holes at the bottom. It will always get stuck on the wheels. I went riding with holes in the bottom of my jeans and biffed it. I changed it skinny jeans and I was fine.
And finally Do: Wear some kind protection in case you biff it. If you end up biffing it you will get road rash. Road rash sucks because then you should use peroxide and peroxide burns. When I got road rash it was everywhere and I used peroxide and it burnt like hell.
But for the love of everything holly Don't: Jump off your board because you will biff it. When you are going down a big hill DO NOT jump off your board because you will get road rash, that is inevitable. I jump off my board and badly biffed it.

I'm have to agree about the wearing protection even juts a hoody. I remeber when I used to skate I was riding down a hill I hit a rock and flew off my bord and if I didin't have a jacket on I would of had serious road burn. That was the best advice that you could give. It seems that you're good at long boarding so keep it up and don't stop.
Thanks rhet and that's right even just a jacket will keep you from road rash but I was never smart enough to wear a jacket when I went boarding.
It makes me laugh because ofnall the road rash you speak of. But think your biggest point is "don't jump off the board" but I think you should have added while at high speeds. Cause youll catch a face in the concrete before anything!
The lord gave you a gift of talent and your giving your secrets about long boarding. That's super cool you know how to long board. I think if you long board you shouldn't need no protection. If you dare to why would you wear protection. But safety is important and I understand that. Good job Mary.
I really like this I use to long board until I jumped off. And now I dont long board anymore because I don't trust my self, but you did a really good job Mary :)
Thanks Anjie. You can always get up and try again. I'm sure you will do fine if you just try again.
