My Favorite Mistake

My favorite mistake happened in fifth grade. I was with my friend. We were at my dad's house, my older brother and two of his friends brought over a lot of beer. After that we went to my mom's house, and decided to play with drills. (Not just any ordinary drill bits either, they were for making electrical holes.)

At the time my mom was trying to put up shutters in the back of the house. My friend and I were just messing around, his drill bit broke, and me being James I wanted to get out the broken bit out of the board. In that time it took to take out the bit , I missed my mom's calling for me.

At first my hand did not hurt. All I felt was the blood running down my hand.
Then I looked down at my hand I saw just a bloody hole in my hand. My hand hurt now I could feel the pain, it was a pain that I just can't put in words. I ran to the back of my house and found my mom, and I said "mom I think I have a problem." She asked "where Is the cut?" I showed her she said something like we're going to to the hospital. I cried I did not want stitches.

We got to the hospital and waited an hour and a half waiting for the doctor. They finally came and and asked how I felt I answered it hurts! Then we waited for an other hour for the numbing to be done. We left after my stitches and now have a scare on my webbing between my thumb and pointer finger.

The biggest thing I have learned. Was to not operate electric tools when under the influence. I have also learned is to use drill bits the way they are supposed to be used.
We need to always wear proper safety gear. To never operate without someone who is responsible.

I can relate to this because when I was younger I wasn't the smartest tool in the shed. Even when things seem fun they could be dangerous. Just be careful and make smart choices. Why did you feel sad about getting stitches?

Well I least you wasn't hurt that bad because come on it coulda been worse. Pain should be your ally and luckily you didn't feel any pain. Don't do anything stupid while your under the influence it'll just get you hurt in the end. Your story made me laugh a little but it was a very serious matter. So remember keep your head up and be more responsible if you ever get high in the future.

You are like me when I see tools I have to mess with them. I have broken a lot of things that were being built because I see tool and something being worked so I think I'm helping but when I'm finished I've screwed it up bad. One time when I was younger my dad handed me some gorilla glue and said hold this for a minute so what do I do I take the glue put it on my hands then stick my hands together then my hands are stuck for a few hours because thet glue happens to be some of the strongest glue ever. Had to go to the hospital to get my hands un stuck.

What I learned from this is that you could really never look up to a person for so long. My older brother did that to but I felt. I should have told someone where I was going. Because that's the night that I broke my ankle so I had to try to walk home. It's a good thing that I had a phone.

I agree that you should not ever operate electronic tools with out supervision. When I was young like 5 or 6 I stuck a key in to a plug in the wall and got electrocuted. I am now afraid to even plug something into the wall because I'm scared to get electrocuted.
