You know the best way to move on is learn form it. My way of getting passed the physical mental and sexual abuse I was put through was to learn and understand what was going on. I never figured out why I was put through it and I can't go back and change it. At first I tried to forget and move on but there was always something that reminded me and I couldn't get away it wouldn't let me escape it's grasp. I learned to face it, learned to understand that it wasnt my fault. That they were the ones with the problems that I had to keep myself form them. I had to forgive them for what they put me through because I didn't want my life a living hell to have control over me. I hope you can move on and be able to move on!
I really like this memoir because I can relate to it in a lot of ways, no lie! I was abused by my father in eighth grade, so I know where you are coming from when you say these things! Just put the past behind you and find the bright side of life! I really like this saying, "I may walk slow, but I will never walk backwards." -Abraham Lincoln
I know what you're going through, I've been through the same thing and it can be really tough. Sometimes you just want to mentally break down but you just can't let it get to you. I used to just hold it in, but then, I found a way out by drawing. Now I draw in a notebook everyday and every time I draw something about my past I let it go by burning it or ripping it up and throwing it away.
I've been there. The most horrible things in life can blindside us when we least expect it and it can physically and mentally MESS US UP. But at the end of the day, it will take a ton of struggle and discipline and definitely a whole lot of risk taking , learning to trust people, but the best feeling in the world is when you realize that even though it was hard, you were able to get past it and move on anyway.

You'd be surprised at how many people can relate to your memoir! You'll find a way. The suggestions from others are great.
