Things that Should Die with 2013

I think anything to do with "Swag" should die with 2013.

One reason I think that swag should die with 2013 is because it is beyond over used and people in the world now days use it for so many ridiculous reasons. The most that the word swag is used for now days is either teenagers trying to dress up in all kinds of brand named clothing and snap back hats to try and look better than one another and to look like they're the coolest person in the world. They use the word "swag" to describe the way that they look. Most of the people that use swag are posers in my opinion. They dress up the way they do to get attention and to have a certain kind of reputation for themselves.

I mean, it makes no sense to me why so many teenage girls and boys like to look just like everybody else around them. I honestly feel like they really have no idea who they are because of what they do. I think everyone should have an individual uniqueness about them and have their own style that expresses who they are and I think clothes really express someone in that way, but when you are dressed like every body else in the world.. Be your own person. My first guess of you would be "oh they're trying to be like the wannabe rappers and are trying to look like a gangster".

I admit, it is nice to dress up and to look nice, but as long as it is for you. Not because you want to be someone you know damn well you're not. It is all just over rated. If you were trying to be your own person you wouldn't even need to use a word like swag to describe yourself. If you know you have class, own that shit. But if you go around saying how cool your clothes are and how much you got swag, that is not classy AT ALL, and the way that you look and others look should not have to be a competition! It goes to show everyone you are a follower, fake, better than other people, and trying to be someone you're not.

I feel that the style is fine but the word is over rated and pointless but if people like the style then that is perfectly fine n my opinion for them to wear it, I mean it's like the skater style, some kids don't skate but they like the style of the skater look. I just feel that swag has made the style that it supposedly represents just seem bad. I mean wear what you want even if the style is so called by others "swag" just don't say you have swag, just wear it because you want to wear it, not because others do and you want to try and one up them, so yes I feel the word swag should die with 2013

Shaye, I completely agree with this. Swag is a term that has been derived from its original meaning and used to represent something else. I mean, sometimes swag CAN be a good thing. For example, when someone has "swagger" that can sometimes be a good thing, just not when it is overused.

I just want too bring up the fact that no mater what people will dress the same and follow fads. It's enviable for people too want too belong too the same group or classification! And let's be honest the "swagg" dress is a way too impress girls if girls didn't go for it it wouldn't be such a fashion craze. I honestly think that swagg is just a way too show how ignorant this generation is. In sense the fact that swagg is what "we" care about.

I think Ira is right to an extent. We have, for many years, used the term, "SWAG", to represent our style. Witch is okay. But when you use it to show society how expensive or nice your attire is, it's kind of ridiculous. Besides, we have other, more intelligent words for style. Why not just say style, or class?
