Some people may ask me, "what goals have you set for yourself. I mean since now I'm 17 years old and all. I had some time in a cold cell to think about these goals so here are what my goals are for the near and far future.
#1. Do what I need to do to get off parole.
I'm currently on parole and I need to do what I can to get myself out of the mess I put myself in. I've spent 2 years of my life in a cell, but, all together is like 4 years. I wanted to make this my goal because I just want to be free and not in the system. So this is my first goal.
#2. Prepare myself for college.
I'm graduating in February hopefully. So I want to prepare myself for the years to come. I hope that I enjoy going to college is worth while. I mean that after going to high school I think that I should be able to have a good college year. This is my second goal of five.
#3. Be close to my family as possible.
I want to make up time from when I was locked up. Family to me is all I got. I wish that I can take back that 2 years I've missed. This is my third goal of five.
#4. Show people that I can do positive things in my life.
I want to show people that I can do things. Many people think that i will mess up like others. But all this time I've been doing my best and about to graduate. I want to make my grandparents proud.
#5. Be myself and don't worry about others.
I just want to do me and what I need to do. No one can control me and I want to learn things on my own. I have to say that I learn from others mistakes. The path I chose I will enjoy it.

Matt I lied how you set these goals for yourself. I like how that you can make a joke out of everything and everyone but there's this serious side of yourself that nobody knows about. I especially like your goal of making up time from being locked up to just hang out with your family. I know that you'll keep these goals so good luck.
Your goals are similar to mine. I want to do what I have to do good. I want to bee closer to my family too. Good job on the goals.
Matt, I'm curious about your story. If you're open to sharing, I would love to hear about what you learned from being locked up for so long. You seem really young to have experienced so much cell time. What was your experience like? Did it help? Did it hurt your progress?
